TDC IP transit service

TDC IP-Transit (Internet Protocol Transit) Service and dedicated IP Peering are high-quality IP-based transit services offered for Internet Service Providers (ISP), Application Service Providers (ASP), content providers, and other users demanding high-quality performance and connectivity into the Internet backbone. The services are offered through TDC’s own Pan Nordic network into Nordic, European and Global Internet Exchange points (IX).

Service features
TDC Wholesale Peering and IP-Transit Services consist of following aspects:

  • internet connectivity (Commercial Peering, European and Global)
  • BGP-4 (Border Gateway Protocol version 4) routing as a default routing protocol
  • network surveillance and reporting
  • customer support.

TDC IP-Transit Service is available with community support and anti-DDOS services. Committed Burst Size for data packets and route hosting are also supported with a customer predefined prefix list.

BGP-4 routing
The routing protocol used with TDC Wholesale Peering and IP-Transit Services is BGP-4 (Border gateway Protocol version 4). BGP-4 for example enables the customer to have several simultaneous IP-capacity providers (Multi Homing). The customer is expected to have own IP-address space or AS-number with specified IP-addresses. TDC Wholesale maintains and guarantees network operations within TDC’s own network and up to the desired exchange point(s). TDC Wholesale fulfils the peering policies set by RIPE with the TDC Wholesale Peering and IP-Transit Services.

Bearer service and physical interfaces
TDC Wholesale Peering and IP-transit Services are offered with a large choice of access bandwidths and with many operator network interconnection options. Both TDC Peering and IP-Transit Service can be offered e.g. with STM-1, STM-4, 100Base-X or 1000Base-X based access interfaces. Depending of customer’s needs also other access interfaces are available.

Delivery time
The delivery time of the service is 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the network’s geographical interconnection.

SLA (Service Level Agreement)
Different service levels with financial compensation are available.

Customer Service and online reporting
TDC offers dedicated customer care for carriers and ISPs. Customized real time reports and availability can be served through extranet service. TDC’s own NOC (Network Operation Center) operates 24h/365 days.
